F. Blachnicki is a call for a new forms of pastoral care based on the most significant experience of the first centuries of Christianity, the newly discovered and depicted as a gift of the last council. Taking conciliar and post-conciliar indications of the Church, especially in the document “Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults”, the family is called to the appreciation of the catechumenate. The Christian family is the privileged place for catechesis, and parents are the first teachers and educators in the faith. Therefore, the family catechumenate seems to have a special character in any way - according to statements made by Rev. F. Blachnicki - not replaced. The restoration of the leading role of the family in the task of awakening and development of faith involves the rediscovery of the fundamental truth that the Christian community is in itself a living catechesis. This relational dimension of faith is more important than all contents and methods, according to the personalistic nature and importance of Christian witness. This task is more urgent because we experience today the fact of ignorance and passive attitude of parents towards their obligation of the religious formation of their children. We could even define this state as a great challenge for the Church, which should take, especially since we are dealing with a serious crisis of the modern family.</p> ER -
