View of The scientific work of Professor Stanisław Pikulski undoubtedly reinforces many important issues related to the development of penal sciences. The issue of terrorism requires particular attention, especially the reference to the legal measures to prevent and combat this phenomenon. This study includes, among others issues related to the legitimacy of introducing a definition of a terrorist offense into the Polish legal system and a corresponding tightening of penalties for offenses of this type. The undertaken reflections are presented against the background of scientific considerations undertaken by Professor Stanisław Pikulski in the above-mentioned scope.
