Abstract

Nowadays, motion creates the reality, because the spaces of communication are the backbone of a diversified tissue of the city. They are an integral part of a broad zone of stopping and waiting, where a public transport stop is the most recognizable form. It is composed of an area of quite fuzzy but discernible limits, filled with diverse infrastructure, but most of all, with the travelers. Material management adapted to changing human needs, promotes the formation of the socio-spatial and gradual production of „places” in space. This article presents a hierarchy of human needs in relation to the whole communication stops in the city and considering their public reception in this context. On the basis of a set of opinions of people using public transport in Poznan, the selected stop having great social potential was analyzed.
