Review process

Reviewing Principles

  • Every manuscript submitted to Social Sciences Forum through the journal's online platform (https://czasopisma.uwm.edu.pl/index.php/fns) undergoes a formal evaluation by the Editorial Board. Only manuscripts meeting the formal criteria proceed to the review process.
  • The Editorial Board appoints two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field and are not affiliated with the author’s institution.
  • The double-blind review process is applied, ensuring anonymity for both the reviewer and the author.
  • The review process is conducted through the journal's online platform, with reviewers completing a standardized review form.
  • Each review must include a clear recommendation: acceptance as submitted, acceptance after revisions, or rejection.
  • Manuscripts receiving two negative reviews are rejected. If one review is negative, the Editorial Board decides whether to reject the manuscript or send it to an additional independent reviewer or a member of the Scientific Council for a final decision.
  • Reviewed manuscripts, along with reviewer comments and editorial feedback, are returned to the author. The revised manuscript must be resubmitted electronically to the Editorial Board.
  • The Editorial Board ensures no conflict of interest exists between the reviewer and the author. Relationships of a personal, professional, or direct scientific collaboration nature are avoided. Reviewers are required to submit a written statement confirming no conflicts of interest related to competition, collaboration, or other connections with the author(s).
  • The Publisher publishes a list of collaborating reviewers on the Social Sciences Forum website.
  • Manuscripts and associated reviews are retained in the Editorial Board's records.
