Relations between the People's Republic of China and Egypt in the 21st century are developing and characterized by a strategic partnership. In recent years, China and Egypt have strengthened political cooperation and continuously coordinated military, cultural, and educational cooperation. The purpose of this article is to analyze the multifaceted nature of Sino-Egyptian cooperation in the 21st century, using political and economic relations as examples, and to outline its main challenges and prospects. To achieve this goal, we hypothesize that political and economic cooperation between China and Egypt in the 21st century is part of Beijing's broader policy towards the Middle East and Africa. Consequently, the People's Republic of China views Egypt's strategic location as a gateway to pursuing Chinese interests in these regions. To test this hypothesis, three research questions are posed: How did Sino-Egyptian political relations develop in the 20th century? What elements of continuity and change in political relations between Beijing and Cairo have occurred in the 21st century? What are the main areas of economic cooperation between China and Egypt?
