Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyse the symbols in Jon Fosse’s novella Whiteness, with an emphasis on understanding how these symbols help uncover the multiple meanings within the text. The main objective is to interpret Whiteness through the lens of Norwegian culture and local symbolism, allowing for an appreciation of both the universality of the story and its specific cultural significance within the context of Norway.
