Abstract

Discussion on Greek problems with detention centers and asylum system organization has been present at EU forum for quite a long period. Migration crisis that was initiated by tragic accident next to Lampedusa Island in April 2015 made the problem of migrants’ rights violations more visible ant ethically significant. The article presents up to date ECHR case law concerning migrants situation in Greece (mainly concerning art. 3 and 5 of the Convention). The
author analyses rulings issued between April 2015 and June 2016. Due to the length of trial proceeding before ECHR the cases concerned the allegations from 2010 and 2011. This is all the more significant subject to discuss because the situation in Greece in the area of migrants’ rights protection seems to become the never ending story. Despite the actions taken by EU authorities it doesn’t seem to help the migration crisis in Greece anyhow
