PEER REVIEW PROCESS

The manuscript review process adopted by Echa Przeszłości Journal is consistent with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (2012):

  1. Every article (dissertation) is reviewed by independent external reviewers.
  2. For articles written in languages other than Polish, at least one reviewer must be affiliated with an institution in a country other than the author’s country of origin.
  3. The reviewer fills in a review form provided by the Journal or evaluates the manuscript based on own criteria. The reviewer must provide solid reasons in support of his/her recommendation to accept or reject the manuscript.
  4. The reviewed articles, dissertations, and materials are forwarded to the author together with the review report. The author should respond to the review in writing. In the response, the author should address the reviewer’s comments and explain why he/she agrees or does not fully agree with the reviewer’s assessment. The author forwards the reviewed manuscript, the review report, and the revised manuscript in digital form to the Journal.
  5. Only manuscripts that have been approved by reviewers and thematic editors will be published.
  6. The decision to publish a manuscript that received one negative review is made by the Journal’s Editor-in-Chief acting in agreement with the Editorial Team.
  7. The Journal reserves the right to select manuscripts for publication. Manuscripts are subjected to a double-blind peer review process (the identity of both the author and the reviewer is kept hidden).
