Freedom of Man as One of the Global Problems of the Modern Civilization

Abstract

The paper aims at the fact that freedom of man should be considered one of the global problems of the contemporary world. It should definitely be treated with equal to other problems attention while making concrete decisions concerning administration and cooperation in the global context.

The main part of the attention has been drawn to the freedom of economic enterprise, which can only exist in the world of market economy based on private property. There are two reasons confirming this point of view. First of all in laissez – faire policy freedom of economic venture is considered to be one of the main factors that grant all the other civil rights. What is more, according to many authors, this particular aspect of freedom stands now in clear opposition to the ecological safety requirements of our planet.

The author of the text examines various aspects of the relation between the freedom of economic venture and the ecological crisis and draws the conclusion that there are no simple solutions which would enable us to maintain together the freedom and protection of the environment. In conclusion the author states clearly that considering man’s freedom to be one of the global problems of the contemporary world is vaild.
