Abstract

In the article I consider a concept of alienation on the ground of Ecophilosophy. I try to show it is one of key ecophilosophical concepts. I call it “ecological alienation”. My ambition is rearticulation of the concept of alienation in context of the fundamental for Ecological Philosophy problem of relation between nature – man – culture. I do it in a few steps. First I seek a source meaning of the concept of alienation. To this end I give a short etymological and historical sketch. Successively I present some examples of the most famous philosophical theories of alienation. In the next step I do the same with the reference to Ecological Philosophy. Finally I try to make precise and univocal the conception of ecological alienation.
