Systematizing Test of Terms and Conditions of the Ecological Crisis. Why Do We Destroy Our Natural Environment?

Abstract

Present ecological crisis has become a global one. In spite of many achievements in environmental protection, and putting into practise the conception of sustainable development, the crisis keeps on deepening. There are beeing pointed many various reasons, which cause the increase of global environmental crisis. The reasons of degradation of natural environment may be described in a systemic way - as indirect, direct and deep. The indirect causes are the foilwing: production and it’s environmental impact, the influence of consumption on the environment, and the influence of social mobility. The direct reasons of ecological crisis are connected mostly with modem market economy, with the way it operates, and also with the demographic growth. This growth is also the result of functioning of modern economical system. The most importantplayers in modern economy are: so called „corporational actors”, and particulary, international corporations. To the deep reasons of global ecological crisis belong anthropological conditions of the crisis, and the role of philosophy of life and accepted moral values towards natural environment. Anthropocentric ethics also plays it’s peculiar role.
