Man and Illusion

Juan Bañon

Abstract

Contemporary modern philosophical thought has ceased to keep in touch with reality, bringing about total destruction of sense in human life. One od the major and most frightening demons of human thought - the illusion of nothingness played a crucial role in the process of destruction of reality and sense. Thus, according to the author of the article, the most important goal of philosophy is to regain the ultimate experience of reality, which will consequently bring the sense of life back. The author of the article starts his considerations from presenting the conditions under which the illuision of nothingness emerged in human thought obstructing the way to reality. The author’s research is based on the philosophical considerations if three modern intellectuals: Chesterton, Zubiri, Girard. Concluding remarks concern the role of Christian religious experience in the process of regaining the values that have been lost by philosophy.
