Abstract

This article aims to examine the use of the term “vulnerable persons”, both qualify for dependent elderly people or to make an ontological category of the individual. Putting into perspective the notion of vulnerability with the fragility, we would show that the second seems more appropriate to describe the frail elderly, even to appear as an ontological category of being insofar as it preserves the ideal of autonomy in particular.

Keywords:

fragility, vulnerability, autonomy, care, dependent elderly
