Abstract

In the article the author is wondering if it is possible to put the relationship of a human with an animal in a historiosophical context, treating this subject as a prolegomena to more in-depth research. The preliminary inquiry on this topic focuses on Russia and leads to a discussion of the image of the bear in Russian literature, culture and politics, as well as the presentation of the controversial case of the bear being held by circus trainers at home, its
work as a model and actor from an ethical point of view. According to the author, even if this
