Abstract

In modern age, nihilism has become an important symbol of culture and philosophy. However, due to their changes and evolution, it is extremely different from the sense of Nietzsche’s words: God id dead. Actually, nihilism has ceased to be a symbol of exhaustion of sense, the end of metaphysical thought or general disappearance of the values.  As realized nihilism, it is expressed as an idea of simulation and simulacrization (Baudrillard), as a weak thought (Vattimo) or as liquid reality (Bauman). Old notions and conceptions of metaphysic have lost their meaning and the fundamental place belongs to the standpoints criticizing the intellectual and axiological condition of the modern man.

Keywords:

Jean Baudrillard, Gianni Vattimo, Zygmunt Bauman, nihilism, simulation, simulacrum, weak thought, nihilistic hermeneutics, liquid times, liquid modernity
