Abstract

The aim of the authors of this article is to present Journalism and Social Communication Studies started in 2002 at the Faculty of Humanities of University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn in the context of the results of studies conducted among journalism students at the UWM. They have focused on such aspects of studying as motivations, expectations and career plans of journalism students, their professional experience, activity in scientific circles, as well as an assessment of the quality of education. The students’ opinions of their expectations regarding the improvement of the programme of studies were also collected.
