Abstract

A jingle is one of the shortest radio features, classified as one of the genre-forming forms. It also plays a very important role in the process of building bonds between the station and the listener. The purpose of the author of this article is to discuss the elements of a musical work in its context. Such components as: melody, harmony, tempo, rhythm, timbre, pitch, dynamics and the methods of their perception are analysed based on examples of jingles from the Polish state broadcaster – Polish Radio 1, as well as from selected regional stations – Radio Lublin, Radio Łódź and Radio Wrocław.
