Immersive journalism in the perspective of the affective turn

Abstract

The aim of this article is to discuss the main concepts of immersive journalism, currently developing in the digital environment. The author focuses on showing the evolution of this idea and presents its most important features. These issues are discussed in the context of the affective turn theory, which has a visible impact on the contemporary media, initiating the emergence of multi-media, immersive journalistic projects. The article provides a critical presentation of several of them (The Displaced, The Daily 360, Hunger in L,A.).
