Structure and directions of the IFLA in light of the 2019–2024 strategy

Abstract

This paper presents the world’s largest library organisation – the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) with a particular focus on its current structure, i.e. the 2021 agendas and the strategic activities and key initiatives in the 2019–2024 strategy. The role of the IFLA’s strategic programmes and the publications programme is also discussed. The information presented in the paper comes from IFLA documents, printed publications and the Federation’s website.
