SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT LEVEL COMPARED WITH MEAN PRINCES OF FARMLANDS IN POLAND IN THE YEARS 2009–2014

Abstract

Socioeconomic development is defined in the multidimensional space, and its analysis requires knowledge of a number of factors, among others economic, describing the structure and mechanisms of economy functioning, the natural environment, as well as demographic conditions. On the other hand, the process of positive quantitative and qualitative changes taking place in the spheres of social, economic and production is influenced by the prices of agricultural land. This paper shows analyse of the relation-ship between the level of socio-economic development and the average price of agricultural land in Poland in the years 2009–2014. Agricultural land has been categorized in groups: good, average and poor. The study was carried out based on public statistical data, as well as an analysis of the literature. The study uses statistical methods and the method of descriptive and comparative. To determine the similarity between provinces in socio-economic development, and the average of agricultural land prices was used the matrix of Euclidean distances and spatial taxonomy method. The study area includes Po-land. The average prices of agricultural land taken for analysis (according to GUS data) include a basis for calculating the banks’ investment loans.
