Abstract

The article throws new light on the history of cooperation between Masurians residing in the Działdowo county and in the region of Mazovia during a campaign promoting the unification of East Prussia and Poland in the first half of the 20th century. The article consists of three parts: 1. Communication between the Masurian Union, Dr. Józef Ostaszewski and Gazeta Mławska daily in 1935-1939; 2. The Masurian Underground Research Institute during the German occupation and the contributions made by Mazovians residing in the area of Zawkrze; 3. the Masurian Institute in Olsztyn and the contributions made by Masurians residing in the Działdowo county (Karol Małłek), Mazovians residing the area of Zawkrze (Witold Witkowski) and Kurpians (Adam Chętnik) in the first years of the Polish People’s Republic.
