Abstract

The article presents ethical aspect of idea of freedom, one of the main conception of Józef Tichner philosophy. Originally in his work, Cracow philosopher, depicted freedom in horizon of ethics, founded on experience of appeal for objects values and their hierarchy – taken from Max Sheler. Next, under the influence of Emmanuel Levinas work, he increased his conception of freedom by „language” of face of the Other. The same, in his philosophy ap- peared tension between the two paradigms thoughts: phenomenology of values and philosophy of drama. Finally the agreement between above paradigms could be found. This synthesis shows specificity and innovation of idea of freedom, created by Józef Tichner.
