Altruism – Generosity without Hope for Reciprocation?

Abstract

The subject of consideration is the matter of uniqueness of the man in an animal world. There are presented: sociobiological definition of altruism, distinction between a hard-core altruism and a soft-core one, the concept of a meme. This article answers the question: is altruistic behaviour (based on moral standards which are passed cultural way) a specific human attribute?
