Humanistic Drifts in Ukrainian Baroque

Abstract

The article presents philosophical and humanistic aspects of Ukrainian Baroque culture of the 16-17 centuries. The emphases are put on the difficult relations between Latin and Greek-Slavonic components that comprise this culture. Specificity of the complex mosaics ofthe Ukrainian Baroque, the centre of which is human life in all discrepancies ofits human essence, is stressed. The problem of interaction and interference of ideas of the Ukrainian and West-European thinkers is considered. The article stresses the significant influence of the philosophical world outlook ideas of the Polish Brothers of the 16-17 centuries on the development of the humanistic tendencies of Baroque. The characteristics of educational processes as a basis of the formation of creativity of the Ukrainian writers-polemicists are widely considered.
