The issue of communities and the feeling of belonging to a particular group is one of the leading traits of the contemporary philosophical thought. This problem can be seen from different perspectives. In the following article it is approached from the anthropological and axiological angle. The author of the text forms two different kinds of communities: the pseudo-communities and the authentic communities on the basis of particular criteria and values determining the division. While analyzing those values, the author defines the concept of the sense of belonging to a particular community. While performing this task he also points out to the dichotomy existing among the two concepts and analyses the conditions under which the authentic community can be built. For better understanding of the idea of belonging to a particular community, the author contrasts it with the feeling of solitude and formulates the rule saying that the communal attitude may play a therapeutic creative and pragmatic part in the life of every man.
