Abstract

The aim of the article is to show the relationship between the cultural experience of modernity and the emergence of existentialism. Existentialism is a theoretical and ontological articulation of many phenomena in the modern world (alienation, reflexivity, non-achievement, becoming), as well as of the historisophical scheme of modernity, which was a form of its self-understanding (leap, subjectification, temporality).

Keywords:

modernity, decline, culture, nothingness, individualisation, existentialism, becoming, leap, choice, freedom, existence
