Abstract

Heidegger presents a concept of existence dependent on being. a concept which could called pre-humanism, as it is closer to the source than the humanism of Sartre. Heidegger criticizes the humanism embedded in metaphysics and affirms that the reversal of a metaphysical statement remains a metaphysical statement. Therefore, Sartre is for him a metaphysician who fails to reach being and is not able to reflect and express properly the truth of being. So, it seems that Sartre fails to lead an authentic existence too. Undoubtedly, the fundamental ontology of Heidegger is more like the first philosophy. than the phenomenological ontology of Sartre. However the existentialism popularized by Sartre has surely a greater power of social impact than the existential analytics formulated in hermetic language of Heidegger.
