Abstract

The presented study analysed the presence of representatives from communication and media sciences in the largest international databases, search engines and social networks of scholarly communication: Academia.edu, Research Gate, Google Scholar, Scopus and Publons (Web of Science). This presence was described according to categories such as affiliation of the respondents, title/degree and gender and was based on a statistical analysis of data extracted from publicly available sources of scientific administration. It was found that the largest groups of users are recruited from among PhDs and habilitated PhDs, while affiliation (including membership of the largest university teams in the country) is not a significant factor.
