History of Warmia and Mazury Presented in Radio Documentaries Broadcast on Radio Olsztyn from 2013 to 2017

Abstract

In this article an analysis of eight radio documentaries broadcast on Radio Olsztyn from 2013–2017 which discuss historical events in Warmia and Mazury is presented. Radio documentaries are one of the most important radio programmes, especiallyn in public radio, and one of the most challenging for their authors. This analysis shows that the historical events in Warmia and Mazury attract the attention of Radio Olsztyn’s journalists. The most important events are those about the events from the end of the Second World War. It was one of the most tragic periods for the region. Those radio documentaries help to educate young generations who must remember about the past and that is one of the main goals of public media.
