Description of the Journal

Echa Przeszłości is a scientific journal edited by historians at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (UWM). The first volume of the Journal was published in 2000. The Journal was created on the initiative of Professor Sławomir Kalembka, the then director of the Institute of History and expert on 19^th century history and the history of political thought. The Journal’s Scientific Board comprises professors representing Polish and international academic centers. Echa Przeszłości is the leading journal that publishes contributions from UWM’s historians. Each volume is divided into the following sections: Articles and Dissertations, Documents and Materials, Polemics, Reviews, Scientific Chronicle, Farewells, and From the History of Science in Warmia and Mazury. The journal accepts only top-quality manuscripts that present the results of original research and have not been published previously. Articles are published in Polish, English, Russian, Italian, German, and French.

Objective and Thematic Scope

The Journal invites articles devoted to all historical periods, from antiquity to the modern era.
