Abstract

Christianity continues the Judaic idea of a nation chosen by God and bestowed with special

graces. The Jewish people have been replaced

by the community of people who were baptized

and believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior. Since

there would be no salvation without sin, the fall

of first parents should be considered as a lucky

event which contributed to a greater good – the

Embodiment of God and human salvation. Thus,

if Jesus atoned for people’s sins by sacrificing

himself on the cross, then the greatest evil imaginable – the death of God – is also the greatest

good imaginable – defeating Satan and freeing

people from the curse of sin. Therefore, Christians believe that people are so precious to God

that he not only forgave them their sins but also

died for them. However, the only people who benefit from the salvation brought on by the sacrifice

on cross are those who were baptized and believe in Jesus – making Christians the true elite.
