Controversies round about Ritual Slaughter of The farm Animals

Abstract

The most important controversies regarding ritual slaughter of the utilitarian animals (i.e. slaughtering not preceded with stunning) are presented in the paper. This method of killing animals is used in case of a half of all the animals slaughtered for human consumption, and is often perceived as an extremely brutal and non humanitarian treatment ofthe animals. However, the Jewish and Muslim believers have different opinion concerning this issue. Even more difficult is to clearly determine the impact of this slaughter method on the animal welfare.
