The Modernistic Rewrite of Postmodernism

Dorota Sepczyńska

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is my attempt to find the origin and the main concepts of postmodernistic philosophy. I merely touch the points that researchers of contemporary philosophy have already described and agreed upon. In this article, I promise to explain some issues in a nondeconstractive way. 1 will describe the topic with the continuity of thoughts: its introduction, the body and its end. It is contrary to the destructive way of approaching the „metaphysics of being”. My article is rather a modernistic rewrite of postmodern philosophy. It is an attempt to seek the concepts that enable one to build and to agree upon the abstract definition of the subject and to build its specific model. This model is quite an imaginary one because it refers to the anti-model and to the anti-totalitarian way of thinking in a free and emancipating manner. In my article, I attempt to describe a model of postmodernism. It complements many other models that have already been described in literature. I must admit that I do not intend to analyze thoroughly all problems of postmodernism. I will only touch it without creating any attempt to critique it with strong axiologic elements. I would avoid a discussion that could place me on either the polemic side or on the side that accepts the thoughts commonly known as „after philosophy”. My intention is that this article be an introduction and an inspiration to do further research on the exciting subject that is postmodernism. I hope that the reader accepts my intention and finds this short article to be of merited rather than of rhetorical value.
