This paper focuses on the psychogenesis of reference discussed by Willard Van Orman Quine (The Roots o f Reference). Quine examines the way we learn to speak referringly and refer to objects. The purpose of this paper is to present some steps of Quine's psychogenetic reconstruction and its ontological consequences.
