In present article the author is trying to bring closer the excerpt of early middle ages argument about univers order which is based on Christian symbolism. It will be done thanks to selected a few environmental - theological reflexions of carolingian savant Rabanus Maurus contained in broad of summa about world - De universo. The VIII tome of this masterpiece will be analysed. The fourth chapter entitled De vermibus - about worms, open ahead of reader the world full of insects, annelids, molluscs, human parasite which existence - according to Maurus - invaluable contribution in understanding mystery of invisible God. The kingdom of nature was hiding in itself force of allegorical indicators which skillfully interpreted could opened the way to salvation. In every tome of De universo we can find the harmony of elements in range of world history, human history and salvation. Rabanus Maurus was commented and interpreted all phenomenon from surrounding him reality with academic passion and undisputed belief in interdependence temporal and heavenly world. Omnipresent work of creation was approximate him to the Creator. The nature was an endless source of hierofany and thanks to Bible and intellect guided by faith we could decode hide in it codes, keys and metaphors. In that way Maur - like many anothers presents scholars - was getting through to satisfying feel of understanding the world. Move closer to sacrum sphere. Through the visible pictures, sounds and names in every dimension of human existence it become possible to searching and unveiling God. Let look for then „the shadow of true and life” in the world full of blood-thirsty leeches and spiders. After all real philosopher - in Maur opinion - is this who owned divine and human knowledge.
