Abstract

This article describes the understanding of philosophy as „thinking together”, according to the idea of Cezary Wodzinski - thinking together with the philosopher, whose work provides a specific challenge. However, many other processes or events may be such challenge - for example: the 9/11 terrorist attack, pandemics, pollution of the environment etc. Philosophy as a whole is a practice of timeless thinking. Thinking together is, of course, a result of “being together” (Heidegger). According to others, philosophical thinking together means sharing mutual love to what is essential (Scheler). The preconditions for thinking together are: mutual esteem, humility, tolerance, openness, reliability of thinking, ad rem polemics. The philosophical specialization, which places thinking together in the main focus, is the philosophy of dialogue. Philosophy must be open to what is different. In this way philosophical thinking may grow from the mutual care for the human fate and civilization.
