Abstract

The author of the present text tries to show the phenomenon of writing for radio plays which is present in works devoted to radio art. The phenomenon refers to the beginning of Polish radio studies and the forms of description belonging to it: treaties, poems and manifestos. It is these forms, in a poetic and expressive way, radio has recognized the fascination of artists from the interwar period. This style seems to have come back in the newest radio drama studies – the works of two authors: Jacek Kopciński and Ewelina Godlewska-Byliniak. Each of these two proposals have a different understanding of the concept of communication in radio drama. Kopciński focuses on the word and is literary. Godlewska describes and interprets ambiguous sound material. The author summarizes the proposed theories with selected examples of Polish radio plays.
