Abstract

Computer algorithms have been in everyday work practice since the 1960s. Their role rose significantly in the 1990s with the spread of the Internet and the rapid spread of information. At that time, the concept of big data was popularized (definitions of big data are discussed in the text). The author of this paper discusses theoretical and practical aspects of cooperation between employees and algorithms and the potential consequences for the labour market that this cooperation may bring. The next point is a discussion of the definition and the role of software bots, a new phenomenon in the world of work automation. The most important part of the paper is a proposal to measure the levels of work automation and the definition of software bots.
