Abstract

In this article, the topic of occurrence in media discourses of the corporeal images of women practicing martial arts and combat sports was mentioned. The purpose of the authors of this publication is to characterize selected discourses related to women who engage in various forms of physical activity to improve their own psychophysical condition. The outline of this issue is presented based on the participation of women 1) in various forms of training processes, 2) in undertaking the fight against oneʼs own weaknesses and 3) in the competition with selected opponents. As the research method, selected elements of the media discourse analysis were used, which were selected based on the initial content analysis.
