Abstract

The purpose of the author of this article is to explore the inter-textual strategies used by Mariusz Wilk in his reports on Russia. The analyses focus on the books Wołoka and Wilczy notes, which contain several references to the works of other authors. The reporter often cites Russian and Polish artists in his books: journalists, writers and scientists. He creates a polemic against their texts or he treats them as a starting point for further discussion. The aim of this paper is to determine the function and purpose of these inter-textual references, as well as to define their role in the contemporary literary reportage.
