Abstract

The issue of this essay is a continuation of the reflection contained in the text published by Wojciech Pelczar entitled: Poezja w pozauczelnianych zainteresowaniach studentów Wyższej Szkoły Informatyki i Zarządzania w Rzeszowie (in: Między człowiekiem i człowiekiem, eds M. Burta, M. Kryszczuk, S. Sobieraj, Siedlce 2013). The inspiration, as in the case of the current reflections, were the numerous opinions of researchers of literature reception, who anxiously highlight the presently quite common phenomenon of declining readership, especially among the younger generation of Poles. The author discusses many issues related to the readership of young people. He writes, among other things, about motivations that guide students in the selection of literature and the frequency of reaching for non-homework books as well as indicates the formal elements of texts within the interests of young people.
