Abstract

The aim of the author of presented paper is to compare examples of radio broadcasts of political advertising from the perspective of the material used in them. What matters is the question of the forms in which this communication manifests and whether it fits the specificity of this medium. The work has a theoretical dimension, with elements of qualitative analysis serving to exemplify the deliberations under consideration. In the research, discourse analysis is used in connection with the critical discourse analysis, which allowed interesting elements resulting from the content of the messages and their form to be indicated. On the basis of the discussed examples, different ways of using the components of the phonic material were presented and the advantages
and disadvantages of specific solutions used in election advertisements were discussed. The practice of selecting radio information media in an election campaign shows that the advantages of the radio are not used to a sufficient degree, but this results both from the lack of objective benefits of such advertising and the lack of a professional approach to the audio material.
