Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the history and activities of the Polish community in Montenegro. The Polish diaspora in this country, although not large (150–200 people) and united in the Association of Resident Poles in Montenegro only in 2003, deals with various activities and has many achievements. The organization publishes two press titles, one of them, “Głos Polonii,” is the research material of the article (numbers from 2011–2017, available online). The periodical is the press chronicle of the Association, which informs about its activities. Thanks to the Montenegrin Polonia and the Polish Embassy in Podgorica, there is a library with a Polish book collection, since 2010 there have been regular Polish language courses, Polish religious, state and special day celebrations and meetings with Polish artists have been organized. The Association also informs about international cultural events in which Poles participate
and about Polish programs in the Montenegrin media. The Montenegrin Polonia also conducts charitable activities, as well as cooperates with other Polish diaspora organizations, informs about their activities and supports the unification activities of Polish diasporas in other countries.
