Abstract

In 2020 there were references to the pandemic in messages prepared by brands representing various industries. The aim of this article is to verify the presence and indicate the methods of such references in audiovisual messages of selected retail chains, released on YouTube between 4 March and 5 June 2020. Content analysis and  the technique of permanent comparison were used to achieve this goal. It was possible to distinguish seven main directions of referring to this topic with these techniques.
