The gene of freedom (on chains and knots)
Abstract
The basis for writing the article was reading Kacper Pobłocki’s book Boorishness, in which the peasantry management system was presented. The presented scheme is very similar to the one created in Prosecutor’s Offices based on the 2016 Law of the Prosecutor’s Office. The article aimed to draw attention to the regulations in force between 2016 and 2023, which made the public prosecutor’s office ineffective and unresponsive to citizens’ needs. The aim of the article was also to present the professional situation of prosecutors during those years. The author first refers to the essence of the prosecutor’s service and his independence, then focuses on presenting the most important economic, promotional and disciplinary tools for recruiting and subordinating prosecutors. It also discusses the most important directions of changes to create independent prosecutors, an independent and modern prosecutor’s office, to serve citizens and the law. Ultimately, the author does all this so that the comments presented may become the foundation for a new law on the public prosecutor’s office as a guarantor of the rule of law.
