Practical aspects of cross-border trade of firearms via the Internet

Abstract

The publication presents the procedure for the transfer of firearms to Poland from other Member States, pointing to practical aspects that are not included in the applicable legal regulations. The authors analyzed the issues related to the specific procedure of sending this goods, taking into account the difficulties arising from the use of the postal operator for the transport of firearms and the dilemmas related to the concept of firearms in the current legal state.

The publication also suggests changes to the applicable regulations, which will make it possible to organize the issue of the transfer of firearms with the possibility of proper regulation of this issue, which in the future could exclude contradictions resulting from discrepancies between the provisions of the Act on weapons and ammunition and the applicable executive acts specifying the conditions for the transfer of weapons.
