Abstract

The article explores the biography of Teofilia Jacuńska and her work for the common good in
the four parishes in the Suwalszczyzna region. Born in the US, well-educated and multitalented,
Jacuńska abandons a promising career in order to come back to Poland and to focus solely on social
work for the good of people and the Church. The article discloses facts previously unknown to the
public but of vital importance to our national awareness. These stories enrich our knowledge of the
past generation and review unfair judgment about people devoted to Church.
