The essay deals with the human and artistic parable of the Russian composer who never put art at the service of the State. An ideologically coherent path, in which music becomes a means of spiritual regaining unity in the multiple: a coniunctio oppositorum of human and divine, earthly and sacred, which represents the figure of its international and cosmopolitan style and its poetic, strongly impregnated of recurring symbologies. In Sofija Gubajdulina human experience merges with artistic expression and flows into an active and constant commitment to the defense of those universal values that give an ethical, as well as educational, connotation to all of her musical production.
