Everyday Values In Consciousness of Young Poles

Abstract

The paper deals with the values recognized by the youth. This social category became the reaserch objective not without a reason; young people, creating their own systems of values and moral rules, establish a new order and add to development.

The introduction presents the typology of values and some notions are applied to analysis of the phenomena in question  further on un the paper. The considerations it includes are based upon the results of general sociological research, conducted in Poland, and regional one carried in Morąg. It concentrated mainly on the attitudes of young people to everyday values. They were asked about the values they consider to be important in one’s life and about the anxieties.. Moreover, an attempt to determine the relatiuon between social and egoistic values was made. The direction of changes that have recently taken place in the value systems and preferences of the youth is presented in the conclusion.
