In the present work the issue of dual-aspect cognition is discussed with taking into account the dimensions of time and space. Dennis Gabor’s communication theory and the uncertainty principle resulting from it have been adopted as starting points in presenting the unit of human cognition. Two variables that constitute a cognition unit (so called logon) are: observations (Af) and afterimages (At). Arguments that support the application of uncertainty principle of Heisenberg-Gabor to describe cognitive processes are empirical relations between an afterimage and observation or between fatigue and perception. In the conclusions the reference to Roger Penrose’s theory is made with indication to its accordance with the proposal of cognitive processes’ description presented in the article.
